Wilderness Falls Now Open in Fresno Chaffee Zoo

The Fresno Chaffee Zoo has a new attraction, Wilderness Falls! Because of Measure Z, children are now able to cool off during hot summer days at the zoo. This waterfall features rocks to climb on, a small stream to splash in, and a look-out tower with a water slide. This is a FREE attraction included with regular zoo admission.

During the summer, zoo attendance goes down due to unbearable hot days. With this new attraction, kids are able to cool off in the water while parents watch from a shaded area.

According to ABC30, Executive Director Scott Barton said that he wanted to make an interactive play area that recreated nature to some degree. He wants kids to be able to pretend like they’re exploring in the mountains.
