Better Blackstone Lending Opportunities Workshop

Workshop for Small Businesses on or near the Blackstone Corridor

Does your business need financial assistance? Better Blackstone is holding a workshop to help small businesses on or near the Blackstone corridor learn about the benefits of community level lending and, specifically, the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund).

If your business is located in the Blackstone corridor area, and you need assistance with working capital, equipment, renovations, refinancing and/or other related business loans, this workshop is for you.

There are two dates for this free workshop:

Wednesday, July 22 and Wednesday, August 19.

Both will be held 5:30-7:30pm via Zoom.

According to Better Blackstone Association, “The purpose of these workshops is to help promote economic and community development by empowering Fresno’s underserved and distressed communities.”

Workshop topics include:

  • Overview and goals of the Better Blackstone Design Challenge
  • Overview and goals of the Central Valley Community Foundation, in partnership with JP Morgan Chase and the Pro-Neighborhoods Community Level Lending Program
  • Loan products from Access Plus Capital
  • Loan products from Opportunity Fund
  • Loan products from Community Vision
  • Loan products from the Small Business Administration (SBA)

The CFDI Fund administers several programs designed to encourage economic development and revitalization in low-income communities. The primary focus is providing loans and financial services to small businesses in communities like the Blackstone Corridor in Fresno.

Representatives from Access Plus Capital, Opportunity Fund, and Community Vision are leading this workshop to educate community members about the many products and services available through the CFDI Fund. They also will be available for technical assistance for those who need it.

Better Blackstone is “an emerging association of diverse people and organizations who are committed to seeing new investment and revitalization of the Blackstone corridor.” Better Blackstone is part of Fresno Metro Ministry, a nonprofit organization that has been working on community and neighborhood development for 50 years.
