UberEATS Comes to Fresno

UberEATS, the app where you can order food and have it delivered has come to Fresno. Over 80 restaurants in Fresno are participating with UberEATS, meaning you can scroll through the list of restaurants, order it on your phone, and have it delivered right to your door. It even works great for those who want to eat a nice lunch at work but don’t want to take the time to go out and get the food and drive back.

UberEATS started a little more than a year ago and is becoming more and more popular with over 40,000 restaurants participating in over 70 worldwide cities.

So how does it work? Download the UberEATS app for free to get started. It is based on your location where you’ll see which restaurants are available to deliver to you. Choose a restaurant, place your order, then track its delivery through the app. You’ll pay a $7 flat fee for delivery.

Fresno State played a large role in getting UberEATS to come to Fresno since it is convenient for college students who are studying or don’t have cars.

Other people who will enjoy the app are those with very busy schedules who don’t always want pizza delivery. If you’re constantly on-the-go then UberEATS will save you a lot of time and hassle. It could also be used for elderly people who have a hard time moving around to cook or go out to eat.

Participating businesses are also excited about the app as it will allow for them to get different customers. Businesses will pay a 35 percent of the phone order in order to be a part of UberEATS. While that price may seem high, some businesses believe it is worth the investment as a part of their marketing strategy. They also get customers they wouldn’t normally have.

Fresno is considered a mid-sized city, but some people who don’t want to deal with traffic or have time to get a meal will benefit from the UberEATS app.
