Summer Camps in Fresno

There are a lot of different summer camps in Fresno to choose from this summer. Here is an overview to help you decide!

People’s Church Summer Splash

What They Do: Summer Splash at People’s Church teaches kids about Jesus, while splashing in the water. There will be games, candy, prizes and high energy worship! Free T-shirts and dinner are also provided!
Dates: June 13 – June 17 from 5:30 to 9:00 PM
Age Group: Age 3 to upcoming 7th graders
Location: People’s Church
Price: FREE!

First Church of God VBS

What They Do: Kids will learn how to be champions of Jesus, to run with faith, help lift the weight of others, and exercise forgiveness. Each day will consist of a different theme including Super Hero day, Luau day, Disney day, and water play day.
Dates: June 20 – June 24 from 5:55 to 8:45 PM (A lite dinner will be served.)
Age Group: Ages Kindergarten through 6th grade
Location: First Church of God – On First St. south of Ashlan
Price: FREE!

Woodward Park Baptist Church Submerged

What They Do: Learn about Jesus and seeing people for who they are on the INSIDE. The theme is submerged, so bring your googles!
Dates: June 27 – July 1 from 6:00 to 8:30 PM
Age Group: Ages 3 through 6th grade
Location: Woodward Park Baptist Church on the corner of Teague and Maple
Price: FREE!

Break the Barriers Day Camp

What They Do: Break the Barriers day camp consists of gymnastics, arts and crafts, dance, and martial arts, as well as swimming days 2 times a week!
Dates: Weekly sessions from June 20 to July 29
Age Group: Ages 5 to 12 years old
Location: Break the Barriers Inc. on the corner of Teague and Cedar
Price: $125 per week per student

Zoo Camp Adventures

Cubby Camp

What They Do: Cubby Camp consists of a variety of topics including:

  • A Day in the Life – Learn what it’s like to work at the zoo!
  • Animal Extremes! – Learn about the extreme differences of all the animals at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo!
  • Let’s Get Wet – Escape the Fresno heat and travel to all kinds of aquatic habitats from the tide pool, to the beach, to the depths of the ocean!
  • ZOOvivor Africa – Learn about the African Savannah!
  • Zoo Medley – Learn a little bit of everything! Reptiles, otters, African adventure and much more!

Each theme consists of kids learning specific topics that interest them most!
Dates: Dates vary depending on which topic is chosen. Week long sessions from June 20 to August 19 from 9 AM to 12 PM
Age Group: Ages 3-5
Location: Fresno Chaffee Zoo and various field trips
Price: $130 per week for non-members; $120 per week for members

Adventure Camp

What They Do: Adventure Camp consists of a variety of topics including:

  • A Day in the Life – Learn what it’s like to work at the zoo!

Young Naturalists

What They Do: Young Naturalists have two options for summer camp:

  • Jr. Marine Biology – Explore the ocean with a special focus no seals and sea lions. Learn about these animals in Sea Lion Cove and a campus trip to Monterrey Bay Aquarium!
  • Jr. Zookeeper – Come experience life as a zookeeper! Time will be spent assisting zoo keepers with every day tasks like feeding, cleaning, and caring for reptiles, mammals, or birds.

Dates: Week long sessions from June 27 to August 12
Age Group: Ages 11-17
Location: Fresno Chaffee Zoo and field trip to Monterrey Bay Aquarium
Price: Jr. Marine Biology: Members $275 per week; Non-members $295 per week. Jr. Zookeeper: Members $250 per week; Non-members $275 per week.

Skate Camp

What They Do: Skaters will learn new skills such as Pushing, Pumping, Carving, and Park Etiquette in beginner, intermediate, and expert levels.
Dates: Choice of week long session: July 4 to July 8 and July 18 to July 22
Age Group: Ages 5 to Adults
Location: Todd Beamer Skate Park on the corner of Maple and Plymouth
Price: $65 per session per student

Pixie Dust Camp

What They Do: Enjoy a week of magical pixie dust and fairy fun playing games and creating all things that fairies love most! Create your own pixie crown, wand, and wings for Tinkerbell’s Tea Party!
Dates: July 11 – July 15 from 8 AM to 12 PM
Age Group: Ages 5-10
Location: Woodward Park Group Activity Area
Price: $60 per child

Kids Invent! Design Lab

What They Do: Work in a Design Studio to create your ideas and run experiments! Kids will work with small teams and work on challenges together.
Dates: July 18 – July 22 from 9 AM to 4 PM
Age Group: 4th through 6th grade
Location: Lyles Center Classroom room 205. The Lyles Center is located on the second floor of the Student Rec Center of Fresno State University, on the corner of Shaw and Woodrow.
Price: $325 per student

Camp Survivor

What They Do: Compete in Woodward Park Survivor Challenges! Games center on teamwork and teams compete against each other for points! Based on the television show Survivor!
Dates: July 25 – July 29 from 8 AM to 12 PM
Age Group: Ages 8 – 12
Location: Woodward Park Group Activity Area
Price: $60 per student

Kids Invent! Robotics Lab

What They Do: Kids will learn basic robotics programming and build and program a robot to complete various tasks. Each student keeps their robot at the end of camp!
Dates: August 1 – August 5 from 9 AM to 4 PM
Age Group: 4th through 6th grade
Location: Lyles Center Classroom room 205. The Lyles Center is located on the second floor of the Student Rec Center of Fresno State University, on the corner of Shaw and Woodrow.
Price: $375 per student
