Even though summer is over and the kids are back in school there are still a lot of events happening in the month of September. Check out these events and take your friends or family!

Dark Sky Festival

The 5th Annual Dark Sky Festival takes place throughout Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The night sky in these national parks is nationally recognized and the purpose of the festival is to educate the importance of darkness for the health of our wildlife.
When: September 7-9 – See schedule here
Where: The festival takes place in various locations throughout Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks including the Foothills, Lodgepole/Giant Forest, Grant Grove, Lake Kaweah, Crystal Cave, Cedar Grove, and Mineral King.
Price: The price varies depending on the events you decide to go to during the festival.

Safari Night

Safari Night at Fresno Chaffee Zoo is the most enchanting fundraising event of the year! There will be samples from Fresno’s most popular restaurants with hors d-oeuvres, cocktails, wine and brews. There will also be casino games, a silent auction and desserts and dancing. This is a 21-and-over event. All proceeds will go toward the Zoo’s new exhibit, Kingdoms of Asia!
When: September 14; 6pm-Midnight

Cool Cats Ice Cream Social

Project Survival’s Cat Haven is putting on an ice cream social fundraiser to end the summer. Eat ice cream while looking at amazing big cats. There will be guided tours that leave from the gift shop from 5:30-7:00pm.
When: September 15; 5:30-7:00pm

41st Fresno Scottish Gathering and GAMES 2018

The 41st Fresno Scottish Gathering will have live entertainment by 7NATIONS, Massed Pipe Bands and the march of the Clans. There will be Scottish food, drink, and ale.

A Tropical Evening in Paradise

The Central California SPCA is putting on the 7th Annual Bets for Pets Casino Night Fundraiser. This fun-filled game night is themed A Tropical Evening in Paradise with Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts, live music, and BBQ. There will be wine/beer, a silent auction, casino tables, and a lot of animals to play with. All proceeds will benefit the animals the SPCA care for through spay/neuter programs, humane investigations, treatments for the sick and injured, and educational efforts to help end our community’s serious homeless pet overpopulation. This is a 21-and-over event.

TS Oktoberfest in Downtown Fresno

Tioga Sequoia Brewing Company is transforming their urban beer garden into an Oktoberfest Celebration. Enjoy German-inspired beers, food, music, and fun festival games.
When: September 22; Noon to 11pm
