There are a lot of fun ways to enjoy the Halloween season this year. Whether you’re looking for a scary, haunted, or family-friendly experience, there’s something for everyone.


Fresno Chaffee Zoo is hosting it’s 16th annual ZooBoo event. This safe, non-scary event is a great way for families to enjoy Halloween. The entire Zoo will be decorated in fall decor for this event of trick-or-treating, carnival games, live entertainment, and animal attractions. There will be a hay maze and live kid-friendly music at Dracula’s Disco. Kids are encouraged to dress up in non-scary costumes.

October 21, 22, 28, 29 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm

Halloween at Crystal Cave

Meet the “ghosts” of Crystal Cave‘s past. This tour takes your through the rich human history of Crystal Cave in Sequoia National Park. Find out if the spirits of past visitors still roam the Cave’s passageway. Children ages 8 and up are welcome. There is limited space of up to 30 people per tour.

October 21-29; Fridays and Saturdays at 1:00pm and 3:00pm. The tour lasts for 1.5 hours.

$25 per person. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the Foothills or Lodgepole Visitor Center.

Hobb’s Grove

Hobb’s Grove gives the ultimate haunted Halloween experience. Attractions include the haunted forest, haunted house, and haunted hayride all with different elements of horror.

Purple Dates: October 20, 23, 26, 27, 30
Black Dates: October 21, 22, 28, 29
Tickets and concessions open at 6:00pm – The haunting begins at dark. On weeknights it closes at 10:00pm and on Fridays and Saturdays it closes at midnight.

Billy Bob’s Pumpkin Grove

Billy Bob’s Pumpkin Grove has all kinds of entertainment for kids including the fun filled forest, a grand-tractor pulled hayride, the corn maze, pumpkin patch, a straw bale maze, a corn kernel pit, and story time with farmer Billy Bob.

Weekend dates October 22, 23, 29, 30 open from 11:00am to 5:00pm.

$6 ticket includes the fun filled forest, a grand tractor pulled hayride, the corn maze and pumpkin patch, a straw bale maze and corn kernel pit, and a pumpkin for every child.
$9 tickets includes the above and story time with Farmer Billy Bob, an awesome book to take home, and a coloring book with kid’s pumpkin recipes.

Monster Mash Dash

The 2nd annual Monster Mash Dash is taking place this year at Woodward Park in Fresno. Wear a costume and join in the costume contest. Run a 5k and have the kids participate in the Little Monster Dash (1/4 of a mile). All donations support the Central Valley Make-A-Wish foundation.

Whities Pets Pooch Parade Canine Carnival And Costume Contest

A Halloween event just for dog lovers! The Whities Pets Pooch Parade will feature over a dozen product and food vendors, the Beer & Bone Garden, family entertainment, and some of the best dog/human costumes you’ve ever seen. Prizes will be given for the best dog costume, best dog/owner costume combo, best dog float (cart, wagon, non-motorized device), and cutest dog.

October 29 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

FREE to attend and $10 for costume contest entry.
