Local Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

Valentine’s Day is the busiest day for restaurants, making it difficult to get a reservation. But there are more things to do in Fresno to celebrate Valentine’s Day besides going to dinner. Here are some fun ideas to do for Valentine’s Day this year.

  • Shinzen Japanese Gardens

The Shinzen Garden is an American-Japanese garden located in Woodward Park. Take a romantic walk through the beautiful gardens to see the blossoms of the Ume tree, an apricot/plum tree. These blossoms only bloom in late January and early February, making it a perfect Valentine’s Day date.

  • Fresno Valentine Run

The Fresno Valentine Run is on Sunday, February 10, at 8:15 a.m. and takes places at Woodward Park. You can choose between a 5k run or walk for adults, a 2-mile walk for adults, a 5k run or walk for anyone under 18, or a 2-mile walk for anyone under 18. The fees vary by age and there are lots of fun things that are included in this run including free admission to the Shinzen Japanese Gardens. View the details to sign up here!

  • Valentine’s Super Love Jam

Fresno’s Mega 97.9 has teamed up with Pacific Concert Group to put on this concert. The Valentine’s Super Love Jam takes place on Saturday, February 9th at 7:30 p.m. at the Selland Arena. Get your tickets here!

  • The Tasting Room

The Tasting Room was named Fresno’s most romantic date spot so it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day. Every Friday and Saturday night they have a live music from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. There are no reservations required and no cover charge. Call (559) 432-8584 to see who’s playing.

  • Valentine’s Day Mr. and Mrs. Standup Comedy Show

Taking place at Di Cicco’s Italian Restaurant in Clovis, this comedy show is performed by two comedians who are in a relationship with each other. Jenn Felix and Danny Minch each bring their unique flare of humor to the table. The show is on Thursday, February 14th at 7:00 p.m. and tickets start at $25. Get your tickets now!

  • DIY Valentine’s Day Workshop

Alert-O-Lite is putting on a workshop to repurpose vintage frames into beautiful Valentine’s Day themed crafts. All the tools, materials, paint, and everything else you may need is included. Get your ticket for $25!
